Listing

Shows lists of contents in the frontend.

Description

A Listing enables you to

• list contents depending on their categorization, which is useful if you want to present large amounts of content (articles for a magazine, products for a shop).
• control the rendering of content-items in the list by selecting a displaytemplate, that will be used to render the contents (instead of the content's own displaytemplate).
• display a list of previews or "teasers" of articles or other content. You could for example make the Listing display all content-items with a special "preview"-displaytemplate, that only shows an intro-text and links to the full version of the article.
• define the sorting-order of listed contents.
• select the displaytemplate "Listing advanced" for a listing. This will present formular-controls to the users to sort the listing by themselves.

The Listing itself is a contenttype and comes with a simple displaytemplate, that shows a pagination above the list (if necessary), and an advanced displaytemplate, that shows additional options for your visitors to select (number of contents per page and sorting-order of displayed contents).
